17 Oct East Sussex County Council Encourage Residents to Quit the Habit This Stoptober
East Sussex County Council urge residents of East Sussex to quit the habit this Stoptober – with the help of individual tailored support available in the county.
In the announcement Darrell Gale, East Sussex Director of Public Health, says: “If you are a smoker, quitting is the best thing you can do for your health and the health of those around you.
“Six out of every 10 smokers want to quit, but trying to do it using willpower alone can be difficult and people may not be aware of the wide range of support available in East Sussex to help them kick the habit.
“The evidence shows people who can stop smoking for 28 days are five times more likely to quit for good.
“Every 80 seconds, one person in England quits smoking and Stoptober is the ideal time to join hundreds of thousands of people around the country who are taking a positive step to improve their health.”
